Greetings and thank you for your interest and support of local businesses!
We are proud to be examples of the hard work and opportunity that the United States offers. We grew up in both Maine and New Brunswick, Canada, though our family roots stem from Vermont and Quebec. Our grandparents worked as small community business owners: Bakers, Farmers & Grocers. They worked extremely hard and gave back time and money to their communities despite their busy schedules and modest incomes. Our father worked in the volatile paper mill industry, so our family was able to experience the rocky road of local economies, including lay-offs and relocating.
In our twenties we believed there would be a need for draft beer service in homes and local businesses. So, we decided to start a company from scratch, Boston Barrel & Tap (BBT) and market it as a local customer service-driven alternative to national retailers and internet shopping sites. We enjoyed supporting various local micro breweries by bringing their draft products into residential homes as well.
Eventually, BBT grew to service and install draft systems at local restaurants as well. Through our contacts in the beer industry, we began helping establish draft accounts in restaurants for a local brewery called Concord Brewery. In the competitive beer industry, Concord needed assistance battling the macro breweries and we were happy to lend a hand. From this working relationship, we were offered to purchase part ownership in the brewery.
We ultimately purchased 100% ownership of the brewery with the sole purpose of continuing the tradition of great recipes from Concord’s brewers. In the coming years, we look forward to working with local establishments and breweries to bring the New England community fresh, quality ales.
Through our parents and grandparents, we grew to appreciate and respect hard workers that always prioritized their communities needs over their own interests. Following in their footsteps, we are committed to positively impacting our communities through the two companies that we now operate. There will be many times when we will have to choose community over profit or sustainability over convenience, and we will be happy to do so. We have always lived our lives this way, and we will continue to run our business practices this way.
Thanks again for choosing local,
Peter & Cedric Daniel
